Any inexpensive vacation ideas for the Daytona Beach area?
vacation ideas - 9 days ago - admin
My fiance and I are going to Daytona Beach for vacation in May. We are on a limited budget and would like some ideas about cheap destinations nearby. We are planning to spend a day in the St. Augustine area as well, if anyone has any suggestions. We love the outdoors, animals, and anything involving nature. Thanks.
Blue Springs State Park in Deland has got hiking, kayaking and stuff like that plus it’s only like 15 mins away.

Volunteer Family Vacations with a 5 year old?
family vacations - 9 days ago - admin
I want to take a family vacation that actually adds some value to the world. There are many volunteer family vacation opportunities out there but most are for families with teenagers. I have a five year old and I want a family vacation that allows us to give back something to the world. Does anyone know of an organization that provides volunteer opportunities for families with younger children?
I’d check with a church

Best vacation destinations in Canada?
best vacation destinations - 9 days ago - admin
I am in Ontario right now, I want to have a vacation somewhere in Canada. I do not know any good places where there is a nice beach, good hotels to relax. Can someone tell me where they would recommend I could go that has a nice beach in Canada?
Thanks.
Anywhere in the Maritimes you can find a nice beach.. Kouchibouguac National Park in NB has some very nice beaches… also any beach on PEI is marvelous.. the northern shore of PEI has nice white sand for miles and the south shore is lined with red cliffs.. both are wonderful.. especially "Basin Head" PEI.. definitely check that out.. its an AMAZING beach!

What happens to vacation time when you are switched to salary after working at a company for 3 years?
I live in Alberta, and I have been working at my job for 3 and a half years, and for that time I have been an hourly pay employee. I just took a vacation and got paid vacation pay, and then I was informed they were switching me to salary. I got a call from my accountant telling me that I can’t have a vacation, until September 27th, 2008 (one year from now, so a whole year without a vacation) because I have to be on salary for a year before I earn it. Is this right? Even though I’ve been there, in the same position for 3 years?
After reading a reply, I figured I would add that the last vacation I took was 5 days, and the only vacation I took this year when we are allowed 2 weeks.
If that company was your sole source of income for 3 years and they provided the tools and managed your activities and your time then you are an employee and should be treated as such. That’s a federal description from CRA.
Did your employer remit EI, CPP and income tax on your behalf?
Either way you should negotiate holidays before signing the new agreement.
According to Alberta employment standards you are eligible for 2 weeks paid vacation every year. See link below.

If you were to travel to any country or state or place around the world, where would it be and why?

Would you like to learn about their cultures, history, tradtions, language ect
Would you just want to have an vacation there?
Or both
Wow good question!
I would *love* to travel to Ireland right now. I wouldn’t be there for just a vacation. I would LOVE to learn about the traditions, people, history, everything! Plus, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. I also heard that the Irish are very friendly people. Everything is laid-back. I’m afraid that if I went to Ireland I wouldn’t want to come back to the States! lol
I would also love to travel to Norway. I have ancestors from that country and the landscaping is also breathtaking.
Other places I would love to go to include Greece, Japan, the province of British Columbia in Canada, Australia, and Italy.
I’ve traveled to Chile and that is another gorgeous country. I would go there again in a heartbeat!

Do you love taking your family on trips and vacations?
family vacations - 9 days ago - admin
I am always planning weekend get aways and family vacations, and day trips for our family…I was wondering if any other parents were like this? lol
Wheres your favorite family vacation spot? One of my favorites is Myrtle Beach
What is your favorite weekend get away? camping is one of my favorites
What is your favorite day trip? Mine would be a day out boating or the zoo or an amusement park…things like that..
By family I mean..you and your spouse and your children
I love taking trips. Usually our big vacation for the year revolves around a family members wedding. I have over 20 first cousins on my dads side and I am the third oldest so it seems like every year we have at least one or two weddings to go to!
We usually try to take a week before the wedding to do fun things on the road on the way there or visit some fun places that are nearby. This summer it will be Minnesota. So we are going to travel through South Dakota and visit Mount Rushmore, Bear Country and the town where Laura Ingle Wilder grew up.
Favorite weekend getaway is Camping or Denver. It is the closest big city to us about 5 hours away. We like to take a weekend and hit up the zoo, malls and Childrens Museum.
Day trips? Well there isn’t much around where we live, so I would have to say out to the ranch where my parents live. We all enjoy being outdoors, BBQing and riding horses.

Vacation ideas for boy recovering from surgery on February and April school vacation week?
I am planning for 2 vacations, one in February and one in April, both on school vacation weeks.
It is going to be 3 adults and my 15 yo son who is recovering from big orthopedic surgery (he’ll be all healed by then), so is important for him to go somewhere warm, sunny and fun.
We’ve been to Mexico already so we are looking for other destinations now.
Do you know of any places where we can have all inclusive with more activities, excursions and night life nearby?
Barbados is a beautiful island. Lots of lovely scenery and so much to do, morning noon and night. In Barbados you can never get bored because there is something for every type of person to take part in. Barbados is also romatic. Activites for kids and older ones…you will not regret visiting Barbados! The island has great beaches and is wonderful for shopping too! There is great night life in Barbados!!
